An angry woman was arrested in east China’s Zhejiang province after deliberately running 49 red lights in her ex-boyfriend’s car, according to local media.
The woman, identified only as Lou, asked a man named Chen to rent her ex-partner’s Audi, the state-run Global Times newspaper reported.
Chen then gave the car to another man named Zhu who, with Lou, used the car in a two-day marathon committing traffic violations, the Global Times said.
Zhu and Lou also ran 49 red lights before police stopped them, the newspaper added.
The car belonged to someone known only as Qian who, according to the Global Times, had dated Lou before leaving her for another woman.
After police questioning, it was revealed that Lou had devised a plan to rack up fines in an attempt to annoy his ex, the newspaper said.
Lou’s accomplice Zhu was reportedly promised a date with Lou if he joined the four-wheeler revenge plot.
