It happened in West Virginia: Republican Justice doesn’t let down with criticism of his work. Then he shows off his bulldog and invites them to kiss his butt.
West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice invites opponents to kiss his dog’s butt
“Kiss his butt.” This is the invitation that Jim Justice , the Republican governor of West Virginia, has addressed to those who – according to him – “never believed” in the small U.S. state.
The butt in question is that of the governor’s dog, a bulldog that the politician had placed on the lectern during his annual speech about the state he administers. At the climax of the speech, which is currently making the rounds on the web, Justice lifted the dog and then turned it around and showed opponents the backside of the quadruped.
The room reacted with hilarity to the governor’s bizarre invitation, nothing new in this type of provocation. The bulldog puppy in the past had been the face of “Do it for babydog,” the statewide Covid-19 vaccination campaign held in public schools in November and December.
Those who were vaccinated were eligible for a drawing. These included several lifetime hunting and fishing licenses, several scholarships and even a school party with Governor Justice dressed as Santa Claus and the ubiquitous bulldog as a guest.
In Thursday’s speech, the Republican touted his state’s progress in economic development and fighting the pandemic. However, Justice lamented criticism from “skeptics” that “they never believed in West Virginia, and that we could make it.”
Hence the unorthodox final invitation, certainly destined to go down in the history of the most bizarre moments in American politics. World.
