Pritchett poured the oil on Zayveon Johnson through the drive-through window as he was being refunded, according to a criminal complaint published by The Smoking Gun .

Police cited surveillance video they say shows Pritchett starting to reimburse Johnson and then going to the kitchen to get hot oil in a metal pan.

Huntington, Tennessee, police charged Wendy’s manager Demarrus Pritchett, 21, with aggravated assault following last week’s incident, which left a customer with burns resulting in “obvious and extensive blistering.”

The Smoking Gun reports that Pritchett and the victim, 23, had a previous complaint regarding dogs, although the details of that dispute are unclear.

According to the report, Pritchett was seen on surveillance video giving his dissatisfied client a cash refund on Tuesday. Johnson was treated at Baptist Memorial Hospital for burns on the left side of his body and on his left arm, where he had “extensive and obvious blistering,” police said.

Johnson’s mother told WBBJ7 News that he told her, “I really thought he was going to go in the back, take my food right and throw it back at me,” and that “I was surprised when he threw the grease at me.”

Pritchett was booked on a felony charge and released after posting $5,000 bail.
