The Ukrainian Interior Ministry has reported the event that took place at 03.40 local time during a change of guard at the ‘Yushmash’ factory, one of the most important in the country, reports Efe.

The serviceman, identified as 20-year-old Artemi Yurevich, fired with his automatic rifle at members of the guard detachment for reasons that are still unknown. “Five people were killed and five others were wounded,” the ministry’s press office reported through its Telegram channel.
Police and National Guard units launched a search and capture operation for the deserter. The commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian National Guard, Colonel General Nikolai Balan, went to the scene of the incident.
