Travis Barker just proposed to Kourtney Kardashian after dating her for several months. The two seem to be inseparable and she was even with him on the first flight he took since a tragic accident he had years ago.

Although the couple was dating shortly before the engagement, Kardashian and Barker have actually known each other for more than a decade. They met when Barker was dating Paris Hilton in 2006 and Kim Kardashian was working as Hilton’s assistant.

In 2017, Barker reportedly moved into the same gated community in Calabasas as Kourtney Kardashian and the two bonded over their children. Barker even appeared on Keeping Up With The Kardashians with his kids, who came over to play with Kourtney’s kids.

They officially confirmed their relationship shortly after Valentine’s Day this year and the Blink-182 drummer popped the question on October 17.

When did Travis Barker have a plane crash?

In September 2008, Travis Barker boarded a flight that would later crash and kill everyone on board but him.

Travis Barker was flying his business jet to Van Nuys, California, when it crashed in West Columbia, South Carolina.

Barker was with his security guard, Charles Still, and his assistant, Chris Baker, plus the two pilots. Barker was the only one to survive, but he was not unhurt.

Reports say he sustained third-degree burns over 65% of his body and spent months in and out of the hospital and rehabilitation centers.

In 2015, he revealed that countless surgeries, skin grafts and the sheer trauma of the accident took a toll on his mental health, but that his children gave him hope.

In August 2021, Barker boarded his first flight since the accident. He and Kardashian took Kylie Jenner’s private jet to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico. He had earlier dropped on social media that he “might fly again.”
