“Maxine spoke of a confrontation in the nature of the civil rights movement,” said Ms. Pelosi.
“I think we should take leadership from the George Floy family. She has dealt with the issue with great dignity and without ambiguity or lack of interpretation from the other side.”
Asked if Waters‘ comments could incite violence, Ms. Pelosi said, “Absolutely not.”
But others said the opposite
“As long as she calms her ties to her anti-American base, her job is done,” said Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Arizona, on Twitter.
On Sunday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Georgia, announced plans to expel Waters from Congress.
“WATERS is a danger to our society and I will soon introduce a resolution to expel the congresswoman for her continued incitement to violence,” she tweeted.
