A woman with Down syndrome made history by becoming a Victoria’s Secret model. She is Puerto Rican Sofia Jirau, who recently shared the news with her more than 150 thousand followers on social networks. With her distinctive motto “inside and out there are no limits,” the young woman demonstrated that there are no impediments when working towards a goal.

“One day I dreamed it, I worked for it and today it is a dream come true. I can finally tell you my big secret… I am the first Victoria’s Secret model with Down syndrome! Thanks to all of you for always supporting me in my projects,” Jirau expressed on her Instagram account, where she shares photos of her work as a professional model.
She also accompanied the emotional message with a black and white photo of herself that is part of an inclusion campaign marketed by the brand, known as Love Cloud Collection, which she shares with models like Hailey Bieber and Taylor Hill.
“This is just the beginning, now it’s really formed!” she added in the post, where she also remarked that “there are no limits.” In less than 24 hours, the image has garnered more than 30,000 likes.

In that sense, Sofia also shared a video in her stories where she showed a catalog of the new collection. “I’m on the cover!” the Puerto Rican expressed with excitement.
Born in 1996, since she was a child Sofia wanted to be on the catwalk.
That’s why her mother enrolled her in a modeling school in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
However, it was not until 2019 that the young girl’s life changed completely when her dream came true and she paraded for Kelvin Giovannie and other Puerto Rican designers.
Then, thanks to designer Marisa Santiago, she was catapulted to the international stage.
In that sense, the 25-year-old opened her own website, where she expressed one of her main premises: “I dream of being a professional model and travel the world. I want to show everyone that I have no limits”.
