Right-wing evangelical pastor Jesse Duplantis claims that Jesus has not yet returned because people don’t donate enough money to churches. People online have been quick to criticize the pastor.

The evangelical pastor claims the reason Jesus hasn’t returned is because people aren’t donating enough money

During a recent four-day Victorython live television event on the Victory Channel, Duplantis made the bizarre claim that people are not donating to their churches generously enough, and this is the reason Jesus has not yet reappeared.

“Honestly, I believe this: the reason Jesus hasn’t come is because people aren’t giving the way God told them to give,” he said, “when you understand this, you can speed up time.”

Later in the program, Duplantis further explained why if everyone called the number at the bottom of the screen to donate, “God the Father would say ‘Jesus, go get them.'”

“I realized that I’m not going to move people emotionally to give,” he said.

“I’m going to move people according to God’s word – what does God say to them?” he said.

“I really believe this, if people would call this number and put this victory all over the world, in every available voice, in every available outlet, God the Father would say, ‘Jesus, go get them.’ Because, you see, he wants to see us just as much as we want to see him.

So, what’s hindering all these things is because people are not doing in the financial realm, because we live in an economic world, what God called them to do.”

It’s really that easy apparently.

“So I have no problem giving, I have no problem receiving.

It doesn’t make any difference,” he continued. “I just made a decision, I want Jesus to come.”
