Wandering too close to the train tracks can be very dangerous. Here is a dog that accidentally fell on the rails and was saved at the last minute.
The dog is rescued from the rails at the last second
The vicinity of train tracks can be very dangerous places. The yellow lines, in fact, mark the maximum limit to be reached.
Each of us, at least once in our lives, has had the opportunity to read or hear the story of tragic accidents that occurred at train stations. The story we want to share with you here is about a dog that accidentally fell on the rails. A dynamic that immediately triggered panic among the people present at the scene. Everyone was anxious to help him, especially since the train would be arriving any minute.
But it was a kind-hearted woman who intervened.
She jumped onto the tracks, quickly grabbed the dog and had him safely on the platform within seconds. Her gesture, which was not without risk, sparked astonishment from passersby who instinctively called her crazy. But it was a hasty judgment that was extinguished almost immediately, given the bravery shown by the woman, considered by all present, in the end, a heroine !
But what happens when animals get too close to the tracks along the railroad tracks? In the worst case, accidents.
In less dramatic circumstances, however, simple delays . They can be stray dogs, cows or flocks of sheep. All circumstances that usually force train drivers to slow down convoys, generating slowdowns and time delays.
Japan’s solution
Japan is a forward-looking nation. From many points of view. In fact, we are talking about a country that has taken into account all the risks associated with the transit of animals on railroad tracks.
Japan seems to have become one of the safest places, especially for one species: turtles. The protagonist of this initiative is West Japan Railway Company which has decided to install tunnels under the rails to allow sea turtles to cross the rails without risking their lives.
Statistics in hand, there are many of these reptiles that, every year and given the proximity to the sea, end up stuck between the train tracks, losing their lives or causing delays and malfunctions in the routes. Because the cases of turtles that, in an attempt to cross them, end up trapped between the rails, are far from infrequent. Unable to get out, they are forced to follow the forced path until they are confronted with an exchange mechanism. And this is precisely where they tend to fit in.
The Japanese railroad company therefore opted for the creation of tunnels under the rails , which are already fully operational today. And in recent months, ten reptiles have already been photographed while walking through them undisturbed. Ten lives saved and potentially ten fewer accidents or delayed trains. Circumstances, therefore, that have saved time and money. The Japanese were able to reconcile respect for nature and human needs. And not for the first time.
