Christy Giles, 24, died of a suspected drug overdose after a night out with friends in the city that left another woman hospitalized in critical condition.
Giles’ husband, Jan Cilliers, claims a video shows her being dropped off outside Southern California Hospital in Culver City, California, by a group of men who concealed their identities with bandanas and drove off in a car with no license plates.
Cilliers was on a trip to San Francisco last weekend and says his wife and a friend, Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola, met some men at a party in the city before ending up in an apartment in West Los Angeles.
“I have all the messages she exchanged with anyone else that night and she was texting Marcela, the girl she was with, at 5:30 in the morning saying let’s get out of here with the wide-eyed emoji,” Cilliers told ABC7.
“The loss is very hard. People share these amazing videos they have with her and it brings her energy back. I know I’ll never get to see her or kiss her or touch her again and it’s so heartbreaking.”
Authorities mention that 12 hours later her body was released from the hospital, while Cabrales-Arzola was released from Kaiser Permanente Hospital in West Los Angeles, where she remains in critical condition.
“Marcela’s toxicology report came back, and I’m guessing they found heroin in her system, which is not something any of those girls would ever do, not voluntarily,” Cilliers asserted.
Los Angeles police say a preliminary investigation points to a possible overdose, which proved fatal.
