An 11-year-old Texas girl died after going hunting with her father, who accidentally shot his daughter, according to Texas authorities. The father allegedly shot his daughter with a high-powered rifle.

The accident was reported Saturday night and, according to the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, occurred around 5:15 PM, when deputies responded to a 911 call.
The family agreed to release the name of the minor, who was identified as Daisy Grace Lynn George.
The dad allegedly shot his daughter with a high-powered rifle in an area near Young and Hickey roads in Hallsville.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers found Daisy critically injured and she was rushed to a Longview hospital where she died.
The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) are jointly investigating the case, as it happened while the dad and his daughter were hunting.
According to authorities, Daisy, the 11-year-old Texas girl died after going hunting with her dad, who shot his daughter by accident, was a sixth-grader in Hallsville ISD.
“Anytime a young person loses their life, it is tragic for everyone involved. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends during this difficult time,” Harrison County Sheriff BJ Fletcher said in a statement.
It has not been released whether the father will face charges for the accident that took his daughter’s life.
