Unable to free this little dog trapped in a plastic bag on his own, he asked for help on Facebook. And the animal was saved.
Save puppy from plastic bag thanks to Facebook
Some Brazilian animal rescue volunteers have gone out of their way to help a little dog in obvious distress.
But it was Marcia Lutz who noticed the poor little animal by pure chance: “The animal had been thrown into a small ravine and was wrapped in an ordinary plastic bag -says the girl-, but it was very difficult to reach the place. I couldn’t save it alone – so I posted a message on Facebook asking for help! “. Only a few minutes later, Marcia began to receive responses from some people interested in the problem.
People who, moreover, have not failed to openly condemn the cruel and barbaric treatment of that living being.
The fastest was Claucia Jackline de Oliveira, who responded immediately. Claucia, at the time, was working at the hospital, very close to the place where the dog was trapped. Accompanied by another nurse, she climbed down the ravine and saved the poor dog. It was exactly 11.48 a.m., less than half an hour after the post was published on Facebook.
“Girls, thank you so much, God bless you! “, Marcia Lutz wrote on the social network.
But what was the dynamic that led to that little dog ending up down there? As it was discovered shortly thereafter, the animal had already been abandoned for a couple of days. Unfortunately, he had not had the opportunity to free himself from the plastic bag , which had become a trap for him. Fortunately, despite all the difficulties encountered, the dog was not injured when he capitulated at the foot of the cliff.
To this day, he is a guest in Mrs. Oliveira’s own home. However, she cannot keep him and is looking for a new family to adopt him.
The crime of abandoning animals
The abandonment of animals is a crime foreseen by the penal code of our legal system. The law, in particular, states textually that any person who abandons a pet will be punished with arrest of up to one year or with a fine of between 1,000 and 10,000 euros . In addition, the same sanction will be applied to anyone who keeps animals in conditions incompatible with their nature and which cause serious suffering on their part.
The period of the year in which the maximum peaks of abandoned animals are registered is the summer. A figure of around 25-30%. The reason? Because going on vacation creates the problem of where to leave the animal or, possibly, the task of taking it away. But it is not only the central months of the year that cause abandonment.
More than 30% of the four-legged, especially dogs, in fact, are lost immediately after the opening of the hunting season, precisely because the dog is not good at hunting. It is estimated that every year an average of 80,000 cats and 50,000 dogs are abandoned in Italy. And more than 80% of them are at risk of death in accidents, deprivation or mistreatment.
In case of cases of abandonment, it is useful to make your voice heard by reporting the culprits to the police.
