Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel is considering leaving office to challenge Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer in 2022.
Ronna McDaniel Reportedly Considered Bid for Michigan Governor
Ronna McDaniel has reportedly thought about the governor’s lead in her home state of Michigan.
Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel has reportedly considered running for governor in her home state of Michigan
Politico reported Thursday that McDaniel told RNC members during a meeting in Dallas, Texas, that she has thought about resigning her post and running for state governor.
And she criticized the governor’s work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
McDaniel who feels frustration over Whitmer, governor of her home state, said the first U.S. Democrat had heavily abused the Coronavirus pandemic.
“Whitmer has done permanent damage to Michigan families.” said McDaniel.
“Michigan would be much better off with a change.” he went on to express.
A recent poll conducted by Epic-MRA of Lansing found Whitmers power of acceptance at 52% – up from 56% in September.
McDaniel comes from a family with a history in Michigan politics dating back decades.
His grandfather, George Romney, was governor of the state.
And his grandmother and mother were unsuccessful candidates for a Senate seat.
