Rihanna is officially a multi-millionaire and the richest female musician on the planet
This Wednesday, Barbadian singer, businesswoman, designer and actress Robyn Rihanna Fenty, 33, better known simply as Rihanna, officially became the richest female musician on the planet and second only to Oprah Winfrey in the entertainment industry; but ironically she didn’t amass her fortune from records or singing on stage.
According to the most recent estimates of the specialized financial media Forbes, Rihanna is worth 1.7 billion dollars, but it is not her music that has made her so rich, as most of her fortune (representing about 1.4 billion dollars) comes from the value of Fenty Beauty, a beauty brand of which she owns 50%, and from her participation in her lingerie brand Savage x Fenty.
These two companies, together with her income from her career as a singer and actress, have positioned Rihanna on the podium of billionaires.
The entrepreneur founded Fenty Beauty in 2017 with the concept of creating a cosmetics brand that made everyone feel included, which she catapulted thanks to the reach of her social networks with more than 100 million followers.
The beauty brand Fenty Beauty is a 50/50 joint venture with luxury conglomerate LVMH , conceived with the ultimate goal of inclusivity, offering 50 shades of foundation from the start.
The product line was an instant success, by 2018 it was billing annually 550 million dollars, surpassing the sales of the beauty brands of Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner .
Despite shutting down her luxury ready-to-wear brand Fenty in February, Rihanna still has her inclusive lingerie brand Savage x Fenty , which she founded in 2018 and in which, according to Forbes estimates, she still has a 30% stake.
After closing the fashion line, she raised $115 million in funding and will have one last round to expand.
