Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex returned to London Monday, April 12, without his wife Meghan Markle, who is very pregnant. Because of the funeral of his grandfather, Prince Philip, this is the first time Prince Harry has returned to the UK since leaving royal duties in 2020.
Prince Harry’s return for the funeral of Prince Philip
Reports suggest that Prince Harry, after landing in Heathrow, headed straight to Nottingham Cottage. He will stay there in quarantine until Saturday, April 17, the day of Prince Philip’s funeral.
In the UK, people must quarantine for 10 days upon arrival. However, attending a funeral is an exception to that rule.
This funeral will be the first time Harry sees his family since his groundbreaking interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which he hinted that the royal ‘institution’ had neglected help for his wife Meghan’s mental health and questioned the skin color of their son, Archie.
Harry had told Oprah during the interview that his relationship with Prince Charles and Prince William was strained. However, they are believed to have spoken since it aired, in an attempt to clear things up.
When the interview of Prince Harry aired, Prince Philip was at the hospital after a heart surgery. Probably, he wasn’t aware of Harry and Meghan’s declarations.
