On a typical Monday morning in Neepawa, Manitoba, a routine police call turned into a dramatic chase. Officers were alerted to a stolen vehicle that had been spotted in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered that the vehicle, reported stolen from Winnipeg, had already left the scene.
However, the story didn’t end there. The police quickly tracked the vehicle to the Onanole area, where it was seen parked in front of a local business on Wapiti Drive.
Chase and Capture
As the officers approached, they managed to apprehend the driver of the stolen vehicle.
Yet, the situation escalated when the passenger fled on foot, prompting a swift response from the police. This is where the real hero of the day, police dog Marook, stepped in. With keen instincts and training, Marook was able to track down the fleeing suspect just a short distance away, leading to his arrest.

Charges and Ongoing Investigation
Following the arrests, two individuals were identified: a 28-year-old man from Saskatoon and a 25-year-old man from Steinbach.
Both face charges related to possession of property obtained by crime. Additionally, the Steinbach resident had an outstanding warrant from Winnipeg and was charged with resisting arrest. After processing, both suspects were released, pending a future court appearance.
