People just realized that Eloise from Bridgerton is in Line of Duty.
Claudia Jessie – who plays Eloise in the Netflix drama – also played DC Jodie Taylor in the fourth series of Line of Duty.
Fans of Mandatory Line will remember that DC Jodie Taylor was fully involved with DCI Roz Huntley.
She often breaks rules and protocol to protect her boss. In contrast to her beloved character Eloise Bridgeron, many viewers thought DC Jodie was less favorable.
And it’s a theory confirmed by creator Jed Mercurio.
Viewers picked up on some incredible similarities in the murder of investigative journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, who was killed in 2017 when her car was bombed, and it seems that the fictional murder thread is indeed based on this crime.
One fan wrote on Twitter, “@jed_mercurio has been wondering, is #LOD6 somewhat inspired by the unsolved #DaphneCaruanaGalizia murder case? My first hunch was the use of the Maltese surname #Vella. Also, same car model, similar journalism and similar potential motive!”.
Replied Jed: “The Gaffer has been complaining that none of the detectives out there had picked up this lead. He’ll probably ask them to join AC-12.”
In Bridgeron’s world, Netflix renewed the series this week for two more seasons
