A Fairbanks, Alaska resident found a newborn baby abandoned in a cardboard box near her home on New Year’s Eve. The infant was outdoors and, although he was wrapped in blankets, the temperature outside that day was 12 degrees below zero, according to the U.S.
National Weather Service.
Newborn found in the street, minus 12 degrees and with a note
The little boy had a note with him that his parents had written to whoever managed to find him. “Please help me. My parents and grandparents have no food or money to raise me.
They never wanted to do this to me,” the note read.
“Please take me and find me a family. My parents are begging whoever finds me. My name is Teshawn,” the writing continued.
I was born 12 weeks premature
In the note his mother also specified that he was born that same day, around six in the morning.
“I was born 12 weeks premature. My mom was 28 weeks when she had me. My parents lived on Cormorant Street. My mom is very sad to do this,” the Daily Mail reports.
The neighbor took the little boy to the hospital, where doctors certified that he was in good health. Authorities are now working to identify his mother. The neighbor, meanwhile, posted the note on her Facebook profile to see if any of the members of this social network can shed some light to locate Teshawn’s parents.
