A mother has been charged with throwing her two children from a second-story window in Brooklyn, New York, on Saturday before jumping out herself, police said.

Two siblings, a 1-month-old girl and a 2-year-old boy, are hospitalized after their own mother threw them out of a second-story window in Brooklyn, New York, on Saturday before jumping out herself, police said.

New York City authorities said they rushed to the Rockaway Parkway building around 11:24 a.m.

ET after receiving reports of serious injuries.

The 24-year-old woman, who is her mother, first threw her daughter out the window, according to the release reports. Subsequently, the woman jumped after equally throwing her 2-year-old son out the window, police said.

The child fell face down and was transported to a hospital in critical condition, police said.

The boy and mother were also taken to a hospital. Their injuries are not life-threatening.

While the boy has no life-threatening injuries, the girl is in critical condition.

Her mother is in the hospital after jumping out of the window, according to reports announced by New York City police.
