A Maidston County Court in the United Kingdom sentenced David Fuller, a morgue worker, to two life sentences for the murder of two women in the town of Tunbridge Wells in 1987, crimes for which he pleaded guilty last month, The Guardian newspaper reported.
Morgue worker who abused at least 102 corpses sentenced to life in prison
Wendy Knell, 25, was found dead with serious injuries in her apartment on June 23, 1987. Five months later, Caroline Pierce, 20, was found lifeless in front of her home. Police were able to track down the killer after more than three decades and after a DNA analysis in 2019. Fuller was arrested on December 3, 2020.
After admitting to the murders, the 67-year-old defendant also admitted to sexually abusing the lifeless bodies of dozens of women at hospitals where he worked. “David Fuller systematically and repeatedly sexually abused the bodies of dead women and girls,” said prosecutor Duncan Atkinson.
The British man took advantage of his job as an electrician at two Tunbridge Wells hospitals to gain access to the morgues. In a search of his home last year, authorities discovered 4 million indecent images of minors and extreme pornography.
Most of them came from the Internet, but hidden in a closet they found two hard drives containing recordings of Fuller’s necrophiliac acts.
It is estimated that for more than 12 years he committed humiliation on 102 corpses, with his youngest victim being a nine-year-old girl and his oldest a 100-year-old woman.
The prosecution claims that 82 of them have been identified. During most of the court session this day, the court heard accounts from the victims’ families and about the emotional damage caused by the crimes.
