Cuban-American Willy Suarez Maceo was accused of being a serial killer as all evidence points to him as the alleged perpetrator of the deaths of at least two people.
Miami real estate agent turned out to be a serial killer
Katherine Fernandez Rundle, Miami-Dade County State Attorney, stated that all evidence points to the Cuban-American as the alleged perpetrator in the deaths of at least two people and the attempted murder of a third.
The fatal victims were identified by the Prosecutor’s Office as Manuel Pérez, 59, and Jerome Antonio Pierce, 56, and the events occurred on October 16 and December 21 of last year, according to the information offered by the official.
With all these elements, Suarez Maceo, 25, was described as a “serial killer” and security cameras in the area place him in the areas where the murders occurred, where one of the victims was stabbed and the other two were shot several times.
Police managed to identify the suspect’s vehicle and at the time of arrest a pistol was seized from him, the bullets of which matched those used on the victims.
“Thanks to security videos, the license plate reading system and physical evidence such as bullet casings we were able to link the three cases,” explained Fernandez Rundle.
Miami Mayor Francis Suarez highlighted the speed with which police worked to identify the suspect, who has been held without bail since December.
The alleged killer did not know the victims and U.S. authorities defended during the press conference that all people are equally protected by the law.
“Some people think that if they commit crimes against the homeless they won’t have consequences, because they think they are people who don’t count, but in the eyes of the law everyone counts,” concluded the Miami-Dade state prosecutor.
