Police chase leads to hospital escape

In a dramatic turn of events, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are actively searching for a 33-year-old man, Blake Beaulieu, who escaped from a hospital after being apprehended following a police pursuit.

The incident unfolded early Thursday morning in the Ebb and Flow First Nation, where officers received reports of an impaired driver. Upon locating the suspect’s vehicle, police attempted a traffic stop, but Beaulieu fled on foot into the surrounding bush.

Chilling pursuit through harsh conditions

The pursuit took a chilling turn as officers, utilizing snowmobiles, spotted Beaulieu in deep snow. Despite their efforts to arrest him, he managed to commandeer one of the snowmobiles and escape further into the wilderness.

An RCMP drone later tracked him down, but he became stuck and began walking towards the road. Eventually, he was apprehended, but not before suffering severe frostbite and being found without shoes.

Charges and ongoing search efforts

After being taken to the hospital in serious condition, Beaulieu’s escape from medical care on Friday morning has raised alarms among law enforcement.

He faces multiple charges, including Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Flight from a Peace Officer, and Possession of a Firearm. The vehicle he was driving was reported stolen from Austin, and a sawed-off shotgun was discovered inside. Authorities are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the Ste.
