Police arrest a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a York County Giant grocery store, the man approached the victim and tried to force himself on her.
Man sexually assaults woman, tries to rape her in store
Police said they arrested a man, who is accused of sexually assaulting and attempting to rape a woman at a Giant grocery store in York County.
Police said the incident occurred July 7 in a restroom at the store on Pauline Drive in York Township.
“He approached the victim, made sexual comments to her and then tried to force himself on her. He fled the store on a bicycle.
The victim does not know him,” York Area Regional Police said in a statement.
The Giant Company states
“The safety of our team members and customers is our priority and, as such, we take incidents such as this very seriously. As this is an ongoing investigation, we ask that any questions about the matter be directed to the local police.
We are cooperating fully and assisting them in any way we can as they continue with their work.”
The woman told officers that she did not know the subject and claims this is the first time she has ever seen him in her life…
meanwhile, the subject managed to flee the store on his bicycle and authorities who were on his trail managed to capture him.
The York Area Regional Police stated in a press release that the man was arrested and will remain in custody until further investigation is made.
