Jason Harris, a Michigan man, has been sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of murdering his wife, Christina. The man is being charged with poisoning his wife with heroin.
Man sentenced to life in prison for murdering his wife by spiking her cereal with heroin
The events for which he has been tried occurred in 2014. The man put heroin in his romantic partner’s bowl of cereal before going to bed. After that, the couple went to bed, although the woman already showed symptoms of being in bad shape, unable to stand upright.
The next morning, the convicted man left the house as if nothing had happened. So that no one would suspect anything, he called his neighbor and assured her that his wife was not answering her calls, asking her if she could go to his house to check if everything was all right.
Sure enough, the neighbor found Christina’s lifeless body.
The man collected life insurance after his wife’s death
The autopsy confirmed that the woman had died of an overdose, but all the alarms went off for the investigators when the victim’s family assured that she was not a drug user.
In response, an investigation was opened and they checked Christina’s breast milk, which she had left frozen for her daughter, having given birth only 8 months earlier.
In the victim’s breast milk, authorities did not find any drug residue that would indicate that the woman was a drug user.
As a result, eyes turned to her husband, Jason, who was eventually charged with murder in 2019 after it was learned that he collected a $120,000 life insurance policy.
Now, Jason Harris has been sentenced to life in prison by a judge, accused of poisoning his wife with heroin by putting the substance unbeknownst to her in her bowl of cereal, according to The Debate.
