A man refuses a life-saving kidney transplant because he must first be vaccinated against coronavirus to receive it and refuses to do so.

Man refuses kidney transplant because he refuses to get covid vaccination to receive it

Chad Carswell, from North Carolina, United States, says he is “willing to die,” according to local media, because his kidneys are not working properly, rather than be vaccinated against the coronavirus to receive the transplant.

“Without a transplant there’s no telling how much longer I’ll be here”

Carswell, who has previously undergone several heart surgeries and says his kidneys are only functioning at around 4%, prefers to continue his dialysis treatment – a medical treatment by which harmful or toxic substances are artificially removed from the blood, attempted to replace the filtering process that would be carried out by the kidneys.

He receives dialysis three times a week, although he himself knows that it is a short-term treatment and that he would have to undergo a kidney transplant to improve his health. He knows this well. “Without a transplant there is no telling how much longer I will be here.

I have to have a kidney to prolong my life,” the sufferer explained to indy100.

The procedure is safer if both patient and donor are vaccinated

Even so, he prefers not to receive the coronavirus vaccine. This is an essential procedure for Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, the center where the procedure will be performed, to ensure the safety of Carswell and the donor.
