Milwaukee County Circuit Judge David Borowski lashed out at Stackhouse before slapping him with the sentence, which also comes with eight years of supervised release, Fox 6 reported.
Stackhouse could have seen up to 37 years behind bars, but pleaded guilty to reduced charges last month , including reckless homicide and child abuse.
When Sir Ameer died in June 2019, police were initially told the boy had fallen down the stairs.
But Stackhouse, who has four other children, admitted he punched the boy in the stomach and punched him in the face.
After Stackhouse punched the boy, he went out to the bar and returned at 2 a.m., when his girlfriend called 911, the newspaper said Assistant U.S.
Attorney Matthew Torbenson described the excruciating pain of the boy’s last moments.
“There should be no safer place in our community for a child than his own home,” said Torbenson
