The London Knights extend their winning streak with an exciting game.

Knights’ winning streak reaches double digits

The London Knights have officially hit a remarkable milestone, extending their winning streak to ten games with a 5-3 victory over the Sarnia Sting on November 15 at Canada Life Place. This impressive run showcases the Knights’ dominance in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), as they have now won 13 of their last 14 games, solidifying their position as a powerhouse in junior hockey.

Easton Cowan’s historic scoring streak

One of the standout performances of the night came from Easton Cowan, who not only scored twice but also extended his regular season scoring streak to an impressive 50 games. Cowan’s journey to this milestone was nearly interrupted just days earlier against the Guelph Storm, where he managed to score an empty-net goal with only 21.9 seconds left on the clock.

Against the Sting, Cowan capitalized on a power play opportunity, netting his first goal early in the game, which tied the score at 1-1. This achievement ties him with Alexander Radulov for the longest point streak in Canadian Hockey League history, with only a few players ahead of him in the record books.

Team effort seals the victory

While Cowan’s performance was certainly a highlight, it was a true team effort that led to the Knights’ victory. Denver Barkey and Sam Dickinson each contributed four assists, showcasing their playmaking abilities. The Knights’ power play was particularly effective, going 2-for-3 on the night, while their penalty kill also shone, successfully defending against all Sarnia attempts.

The game was a rollercoaster, with Sarnia taking the lead at one point, but the Knights quickly responded, demonstrating their resilience and determination. The final minutes saw Julien score his second goal, sealing the deal for London and ensuring they left the ice victorious.

Looking ahead

As the Knights prepare for their next matchup against the Guelph Storm on November 16, excitement is building among fans. The previous encounter between these two teams was a high-scoring affair, with London edging out Guelph 8-7.

With the Knights’ current form and the return of Kasper Halttunen, who recently rejoined the team after a stint with the San Jose Barracuda, expectations are high for another thrilling game. Coverage of the upcoming match will be available on 980 CFPL and various streaming platforms, ensuring fans won’t miss a moment of the action.
