The Latest iPhone 13 Rumors: Storage Upgrades, LiDAR Scanners And More!

iphone

Apple’s iPhone 12 lineup has only been on virtual shelves for a few months, and already the mobile phone world has turned its attention to the iPhone 13 (or whatever Apple calls its next flagship piece) and the three other variants that are expected to move into the Assortment will be included: iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

The latest rumors include a 120 Hz display à la Apple Watch, a smaller notch, a larger battery, and even a potential foldable iPhone variant.

Read on to find the latest rumors about the iPhone 13’s price, design, specs, and more.

Release Date: The iPhone 13 should be here in mid-September

So far there is no official or unofficial word about when we can expect Apple’s next iPhone. We can usually predict with some accuracy when Apple’s iPhone events will occur and extrapolate a release date based on that.

2020 was a different story – it was the first September Apple event in eight years without an iPhone – thanks to production delays due to the coronavirus pandemic. This year, however, Kuo predicts normal business for Apple’s supply chain. In this case, we can assume that the iPhone 13 will be presented at an event sometime in September.

Or maybe Apple takes a page from Samsung’s book and names its next phone after the year it was designed: the iPhone 2021 has a beautiful sound. Or what about the iPhone XXI? Or, dare to dream, Apple could go in a completely different direction and call it something fun, like the Motorola Citrus or LG Chocolate from before.

Price: The iPhone 13 can cost as much as the iPhone 12 — but in the wake of the pandemic, we’re hoping it costs even less.

Apple’s iPhone 12 lineup included four phones at four different prices, with the differences between carriers and storage configurations being even greater. The base iPhone 12 launched at $ 799, largely due to the added 5G support. Since no such major technical upgrade is expected for the iPhone 13, analysts are forecasting a similar price structure for 2021.

There is some speculation that Apple might be considering cutting the price on its next line of phones. Several competitors rose to mark the economic downturn by releasing cheaper models in 2020, such as the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE and the Google Pixel 5, both at the same price as the iPhone 12 Mini but about $100 less than the iPhone 12 The new Samsung Galaxy S21 released also had a lower price point, starting at $200 less than its predecessor.

Two potential design elements that are already causing quite a stir: a flat or completely notch-free screen and the death of the Lightning port that has been speculated, hoped or feared ad nauseum for generations of iPhones.

Cameras: New photo tricks and technologies for the iPhone 13

The iPhone received some pretty well-received camera upgrades in 2020, particularly the Pro Max model that introduced the iOS crowd to Lidar (also found on the Pro) and ProRaw. The iPhone 12 has even stripped the loyalty of CNET photo enthusiast Stephen Shankland from Google Pixel, the former king of computer photography.

You get lidar, you get lidar, everyone gets lidar!

All four models in the iPhone 13 range could be equipped with lidar technology. Lidar was introduced for the iPhone in 2020, but only for the Pro and Pro Max models. So this would only be a real upgrade for the base model and the Mini. Still, lidar would be pretty handy for everyone – the camera function, which stands for “light detection and distance”, is a depth sensor that uses lasers to measure distances. The camera trick can take your iPhone photos to the next level and it has some pretty cool AR apps too.

As we get closer to the alleged September iPhone announcement, we will keep this post updated with any iPhone 13 leaks, rumors, and other speculation. So check back again.
