KSU quarterback is dead after his car was found riddled with bullets
A Kennesaw State soccer player is dead after a shooting in Florida. Police in Escambia, Florida, said they were called to a shooting just after 1 a.m. Thursday.
When they arrived on the scene, investigators said they found two men, ages 18 and 19, with multiple gunshot wounds. The car they were riding in was riddled with as many as 50 bullets, according to information provided by police.
Ladarius Clardy, 18, of Pensacola, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other man was transported to a nearby hospital for his injuries.
Clardy is listed as a quarterback for Kennesaw State University’s soccer team, according to the university’s website. So far, police have not released a description of any suspects involved or a motive for the shooting.
The KSU Athletics team issued a statement saying, in part:
“We are devastated and heartbroken by the death of Ladarius Clardy. Ladarius was an excellent teammate and left a mark on this program with his positive attitude. He will be greatly missed…”
