Woman hangs herself after poisoning her two children to death
The woman, Mary Mulombe, was said to have committed the shocking act at around 7:30 am on Sunday morning.
Mulombe, who was married to a military man, poisoned her two children aged five and two before locking herself in the bedroom and taking her own life by hanging.
A suicide note was found at the scene in which Mulombe indicated that her husband had been unfaithful to her and named several names of women she said she knew he was dating.
She said she had Sh. 100,000 in her M-pesa account and noted her M-pesa pin. She also said she had left Sh. 80,000 in her KCB account and indicated her PIN.
“In my life, I have no other man except you. I was so faithful to you, but you caused me pain every day,” she said.
“Your girls say goodbye to you, they will miss you so much,” said the note dated Jan. 16 and written in an exercise book.
Another page was filled with ‘Goodbye’ written on it.
Area sub-county police commander John Ogolla confirmed that the deceased poisoned her two children before taking her own life.
He said the suicide note was five pages long, but declined to disclose details.
The bodies were taken to Thika Level 5 hospital.
