Tragedy in Piedmont where the Stresa-Alpino Mottarone cable car line collapsed on the morning of Sunday, May 23. According to the daily newspaper “La Stampa” the cableway had recently been put back into operation. According to what emerged the budget of the victims would have risen to at least 14 dead.
The wounded would be at least two while two children would be transported in red code.
On the spot the Alpine Rescue and the fire brigade have intervened in order to extract the bodies of the passengers. According to what has been learned, all the injured have been taken away, while a little boy has been rescued through the intervention of the 118 helicopter.
In the meantime the national alpine and speleological corps on Twitter has announced that “on the spot to support the rescue operations have arrived also two helicopters”.
