Israel and Hamas have reached a ceasefire agreement after two weeks of escalating violence between rockets and missiles launched by the terrorist group on Israel and the subsequent responses launched from the Hebrew country.

This agreement, reported by Israeli sources, comes at a time when some launches continue to be observed over the sky.

It has been reported that the cease-fire will come into effect as of 2:00 a.m. local time, which will be 1:00 a.m. in the morning in peninsular time.

This decision has already been communicated to the Egyptian authorities, who are mediating the negotiations.

These attacks began last week and have so far left a trail of 12 fatalities in Israel and at least 232 in the Gaza Strip.

It all registers as one of the largest violent exchanges in several years.

Both Tel Aviv and several cities inside Israel have been the scene of several terrorist attacks, while in Gaza several strategic points for Hamas have been destroyed.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had already convened the security forces on Thursday to consider a ceasefire proposal.

The proposal had already been launched from Gaza days earlier, but Israel had always made it clear that the first premise was the cessation of missile attacks.
