Influencer discovers he has cancer thanks to his followers
The 25-year-old content creator posted a video on TikTok in 2019 showing his wife, Melinda Griswold, rubbing his bare back. Thanks to those images, several users realized that the young man from Florida should see his doctor for possible skin cancer.
The young man had not been paying attention to his moles, but decided to heed his followers and go to his doctor for a check-up. A dermatologist confirmed the users’ suspicions: he had skin cancer.

“The doctor said, ‘Whoever told you that probably saved your life,'” the young man comments on his TikTok account.
“So thanks to two kind strangers, I avoided skin cancer and this is the perfect reminder that the world is a wonderful place. This is how TikTok saved my life,” he wrote on his account.
In the video, Griswold showed his moles already removed from his back, in images that accumulated nearly 6 million reproductions and more than 1.5 million ‘likes’.
Since he discovered he had cancer, the young man has to undergo several check-ups to prevent it from developing again: “My doctor says that since I have already shown signs of atypical moles in the past, I will always have to keep an eye on my skin”.
