A 20-year-old man has been charged and sentenced to ten years in prison for abusing his five-year-old stepson and leaving him in a coma after the sexual assault.

The minor’s mother was also convicted of “abusing from time to time without reason” and neglecting him, and must serve a two-year sentence, in Incheon District, South Korea.
Jung was arrested for abusing his five-year-old son and leaving him in a coma after taking him to the hospital.
The child showed signs of brain hemorrhage and underwent emergency surgery at a nearby hospital and is still unconscious, according to La Razón news media.
“The accused physically abused the victim frequently for no apparent reason. He mostly admitted to the crime and took into account the difficulty in controlling his emotions, as he is a person with intellectual disabilities,” said the South Korean judge who charged him, in statements reported by South Korean media.
Previously, the prosecution had asked for 14 years in prison for the man and three years for the woman, but the prison sentence was less.
