The Gendarmerie of Finistère, the department through which the stage was passing, appealed for the identification of the spectator, while announcing the opening of an investigation for unintentional injury resulting in a major casualty.
He added that the spectator left the scene before the arrival of the agents and recalled that she was wearing sunglasses, blue jeans, a blue and red striped T-shirt and a yellow raincoat.
The gendarmes asked for any information that could lead to his location and arrest.
The accident caused countless injuries to cyclists and led to at least four withdrawals, those of German Jasha Sutterlin, Lithuanian Ignatas Konovalovas, Frenchman Cyril Lemoine and Spaniard Marc Soler.
The director of the Tour, Christian Prudhomme, considered the behavior of the spectators “inadmissible” and appealed to the prudence of the followers of the race to avoid this type of incident.
