Neuralink co-founder, Max Hodac, has tweeted that his company has the technology and the know how to breed “novel species” of dinosaurs.
Neuralink dinosaurs
Hodac didn’t go into any detail on how Neuralink, which creates chip devices, would be able to revive these gigantic creatures.
Moreover, it’s important to underline that dinosaurs have been extinct for around 65 million years.
He would like to improve biodiversity by generating novel diversity. However, as people remember from the 1993 cult movie “Jurassic Park”, things didn’t go as planned by the scientists.
In the film, dinosaurs are genetically recreated, and they developed a taste for humans.
The resurrection of extinct animals is called de-extinction. There’s a huge debate on the effects it can have on our ecosystems and if it’s correct, ethically speaking.
Creating new forms of biodiversity could also lead to the distruction of an existing ecosystem.
Neuralink’s works
Nowadays Neuralink is busy developing a revolutionary brain chip. Hodac and Musk claim that thsi brain chip will be able to cure also blindness and paralysis.
In August 2020, Musk unveiled the first-ever brain chip. This chip was implanted in Gertrude, a pig. two months prior the big reveal.
In the future, Neuralink plans to use surgical robots to implant the device into people’s brains.
