An elephant sneaked into a woman’s home, the animal was in search of food so he crashed into her house and tried to enter the kitchen and picked up what appeared to be a plastic bag with his trunk and put it in his mouth to appease his appetite.

A woman in Thailand encountered an unexpected visitor in her home in the middle of the night last weekend: a wild Asian elephant.
“We had been asleep and woke up to a noise in our kitchen,” said Ratchadawan Puenengprasoppon, owner of the house, “so we ran downstairs and saw this elephant that came with its head into our kitchen, leaving our wall broken.”
His wall already had a hole in it, when an elephant crashed into his house last month, he said.
The damage was not repaired, as the elephant showed up Saturday and poked its head through the hole.
It picked up at one point what appeared to be a plastic bag with its trunk and stuffed it into its mouth.
Videos shot by Ratchadawan show the elephant extending its trunk to search through cupboards and drawers, knocking over crockery.
“I’ve seen how elephants in our city go after food in properties since I was young,” Ratladawan said, but this is the first time they’ve actually hit my house.”
The elephant entered the kitchen because it smelled the food, the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Protection said in a Facebook post.
“Elephants are herbivores, so they need minerals from salty foods, which are essential for their bodies.”
“They try to find the minerals, and we have trained local residents,” the department said, he said.
Similar incidents occur often in the area because of its proximity to the national park and elephant habitat, it added.
