Drake Bell pleaded guilty to child endangerment charges

Singer and actor Drake Bell pleaded guilty Wednesday in an Ohio court hearing to two counts of felony child endangerment.

According to Fox News and TMZ, Drake Bell appeared in front of Judge Timothy McCormick at Zoom in the Cuyahoga County Courthouse in Cleveland.

Bell pleaded guilty to one count of disseminating material harmful to minors and one count of attempted child endangerment.

The judge shared with the actor that attempted child endangerment, a fourth-degree felony, carries a maximum of six to 18 months in prison and/or a fine of up to $5,000.

At the hearing, they revealed that a young woman filed a complaint with her local police department in Canada in October 2018 about an alleged incident that occurred between her and Drake the previous year at a Cleveland nightclub.

TMZ noted that Canadian authorities contacted Cleveland police and their investigation revealed that the 15-year-old had established a relationship with Drake several years prior to the alleged incident

Prosecutors noted that during the concert Drake “breached his duty of care and, in doing so, created a risk of harm to the victim.”

Prosecutors also say the investigation revealed that, months before the concert, Drake sent her inappropriate messages on social media.

Sentencing for the hearing will be July 12, USA.
