Does Apple have a ring to locate your significant other? The truth behind it all

In March 2021, news had broken that Apple had filed a patent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) called ‘Gesture Input System Based on Automatic Mixing Interferometry Including a Wearable or Portable Device’.

That is to say that this ring, which apparently would be developing Apple, would be to control other devices or products of the brand.

However, only the patent has been published, but there is no news or records that a ring is currently being worked on, let alone one to locate your partner.

This is not the first time a patent for an Apple ring has been discovered

In the face of hundreds of speculations about a smart Apple ring that could locate a partner in real time using GPS, it has come to light that, if it is being developed, this would not be its purpose.

In fact, it is not the first time Apple has been found to file a patent for a smart ring but, in this case it would be more for recording movement and controlling virtual and augmented reality devices.

The patent found in March 2021 from Apple, is about a system for inputting gesture commands, including handheld devices controlled by hand.

In the patent documents for the ring, which would not locate the couple by its description, describes how to use a stylus that would allow writing in the air.

This ring would translate into a universal control to operate other devices in the home, office or elsewhere with the flick of a finger.
