David Guetta’s musical evolution
David Guetta, a name synonymous with electronic dance music, has been a trailblazer in the industry since his debut album, Just a Little More Love, dropped in 2002. Fast forward to today, and he has sold over 10 million albums, solidifying his status as a global icon.
Recently, Guetta returned to Paris after releasing his latest track, Beautiful People, featuring the powerhouse vocalist Sia. Their collaboration has been a match made in heaven, with Guetta stating, “it’s amazing to be back working with Sia, she’s probably my favourite artist on the planet!” This partnership has produced nine songs so far, and fans can expect even more unreleased tracks that Guetta describes as “totally insane!”
From anxiety to fatherhood
Reflecting on his journey, Guetta recalls his very first gig, where he struggled to put the needle on the record due to nerves. “Of course at the time I was playing vinyl, and my hand was shaking so much… a lot of anxiety before a show at the time!” This vulnerability resonates with many young adults today, who often face pressures in their own lives.
Now, as a father of three—Tim Elvis (21), Angie (17), and Cyan (1)—Guetta finds joy in balancing his music career with family life. He describes this stage as “a lot of fun,” noting that he approaches life differently now.
“I’m a little less crazy now, so I look at life in a different way,” he shares.
The cool dad phenomenon
In 2022, Guetta made a significant move by relocating to the United States with his kids. This transition coincided with the success of his hit song I’m Good featuring Bebe Rexha, which not only made waves in the music industry but also elevated his status at home.
His children became popular at school, and in turn, Guetta became the “cool dad.” This dynamic showcases how success in one area can positively impact another, a narrative that resonates with many young adults navigating their own paths. Guetta’s story is a reminder that it’s possible to pursue one’s passions while nurturing family relationships.
