Cristiano Ronaldo returns home to Manchester United
Manchester United announced Friday the signing of Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo, who returns to the English club 12 years after his move to Real Madrid and after leaving Juventus.
“Manchester United is pleased to confirm that the club has reached an agreement with Juventus for the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo, subject to agreement of personal terms, visa and medical,” the English club announced in a statement.
Ronaldo, 36, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, began his first spell at Manchester United in 2003, when he arrived from Portuguese club Sporting. With the Red Devils, the Portuguese scored a total of 118 goals in 292 games over six seasons before moving to Spain.
After closing his time at Real Madrid in 2018, three years ago he arrived at Juventus, where he has played the last three seasons, and now returns to the Premier League to play under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. In the Champions League he will face Villarreal, with whom United have been drawn in Group F.
