Covid-19 cases in the United States have fallen to their lowest levels since June of last year, the first time the number of Covid-19 cases has dropped below 30,000 and deaths have declined.

The United States, for the first time since June of last year, totals fewer than 30,000 cases, and deaths are as low as they have been since last summer. Almost everywhere else, the U.S. picture is improving.
For the first time since March 5 last year, San Francisco General Hospital had no Covid 19 patients – “A really important day,” Dr.
Vivek Jain, an infectious disease physician at the hospital, said Thursday.
The state of Michigan, which recorded one of the biggest crises in the spring, has improved rapidly. About 1,400 cases were identified Sunday, down from about 7,800 cases a day in mid-April.
The United States reports 25,700 daily coronavirus cases, down 39% from two weeks ago.
Since the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has adopted guidance that vaccinated persons can be spared in most situations, both indoors and outdoors, states have to cope.
COVID-19 remains dangerous in communities with few vaccinations, and vaccinations in these communities are crucial to advancing the virus.
As the virus continues to mutate, vaccines may need to be updated or boosters added.
