Community rallies for missing pregnant mother in Indiana

Community members gather to search for missing mother in Indiana

Local community unites in search for a missing pregnant mother in Indiana.

In a heart-wrenching plea, the family and friends of Emma Baum, a 25-year-old pregnant mother of four, are calling on the community for help in locating her after she disappeared in Indiana last month. Emma was last seen at her boyfriend’s residence in Gary, Indiana, on October 10, just days before she was expected to give birth. Her family is desperate to bring her home, along with her possibly newborn child.

Desperate search efforts

Emma’s sister, Abigale Smith, expressed the family’s anguish during a press conference, stating, “We are looking for my sister. She was one centimeter dilated on October 4. She has been missing since October 10.” The emotional weight of the situation is palpable, as the family has exhausted their resources and is now appealing to the public for assistance. Emma’s mother, Jamie Baum, believes that her daughter’s boyfriend may be involved in her disappearance, saying, “I would like my daughter home. We miss her. Her babies need her. Her family needs her.”

Police investigation and community involvement

While Emma’s boyfriend has been taken into custody for an unrelated matter, the investigation into her disappearance remains ongoing. A missing persons report was not filed until October 28, 18 days after she was last seen. Gary police have focused their search efforts on three primary locations identified during the investigation and are now reviewing old video footage from the areas where Emma was last spotted. The urgency of the situation has sparked a wave of community support, with many locals joining the search efforts and spreading awareness through social media.

Emma’s description and family’s message

Emma is described as approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighing around 136 pounds. She often wears wigs and different hairpieces, but her natural hair color is brunette. Her family has made heartfelt appeals to the public, urging anyone with information to come forward. “We love you, Emma. And if you can hear us, there is nothing that you have done to make any of us stop loving you,” Abigale said, emphasizing the family’s unwavering support and love for her.

The community’s response has been overwhelming, with many individuals and organizations stepping up to assist in the search. As the days pass, the hope remains that Emma will be found safe and sound, and that her family will be reunited with her and her newborn child.
