Almost a year ago, Chris Evans made the official announcement of this new project that he was very excited about. It was practically a dream come true to be able to lend his voice to such a special and iconic character from Pixar’s animated films: Buzz Lightyear.
Chris Evans boasts of being the new ‘Buzz Lightyear’ in new Pixar movie
Today was released the official trailer for Lightyear, the movie that is the spin-off of the Toy Story trilogy and, of course, with Chris as the main character.
The story will show the origin of this character who inspired the creation of the toy we see in the saga. Evans will replace the voice of actor Tim Allen, who was Buzz in the animated films from 1995 to 2020.
Chris is an absolute fan of these characters and participating in such a tape has a great meaning in his life. “Anyone who knows me knows that my love for animated films runs deep. I can’t believe I get to be part of the Pixar family and work with these truly brilliant artists who tell stories like no one else. Watching them work is nothing short of magical. I pinch myself every day,” he shared on his Instagram account upon learning he had been cast to play Buzz.
Evans, 40, has been active since his departure from the Marvel world as Captain America two years ago.
First it was in the series Defending Jacob for the Apple TV+ platform and this year he concentrated on filming the movie.
Lightyear is directed by Angus MacLane, the same director of Finding Dory, and will hit theaters in the summer of 2022.
