Sanitation workers kill dog after covid-19 disinfection

China continues to fight against the pandemic and disinfection of covid-19. The country’s health authorities are disinfecting the homes of citizens quarantined in approved hotels. However, in some cases, the protocol that would be expected is not being followed, as the latest information suggests that pets are being killed.

Sanitation workers kill dog after covid-19 disinfection

There is evidence of this, reports The Wall Street Journal. A Shangrao woman who was under quarantine after an outbreak of covid-19 was detected in the Golden Phoenix Garden building managed to record the killing of her corgi – one of the most popular dog breeds – which occurred on Nov.

12.

The woman, whose only known surname is Fu, was in a quarantine hotel according to the rules of the Chinese province of Jiangxi. Animals are not allowed in these hotels, so she had to leave her dog at home.

Fu warned the officials that they were going to find a dog at home when they went to disinfect and they assured him that nothing would happen to him.

A death that goes viral

Despite the workers’ promises the dog ended up dead.

Thanks to the images of the security cameras of the house, it can be seen how two officials attack the dog with iron bars, which flees to another room of the house. There the aggression continues until they manage to kill it and remove it with a “yellow bag”, as confirmed by Fu.

The woman shared the video on the Chinese social network Weibo, a kind of Facebook. On this platform it went viral and raised the ire of users, who did not understand how the government could act so against the animal.

On the other hand, no coronavirus test was performed. Even so, in case he was infected, it would have been enough to quarantine him and pass the disease, since the risk of contagion from pet to human is very low.
