President Joe Biden called on New York’s Democratic governor, Andrew Cuomo, to resign Tuesday after New York’s attorney general dropped a report detailing allegations from 11 women about his inappropriate behavior.
Biden calls on Cuomo to resign after sexual harassment allegations
Biden told reporters during a news conference that he stood by his earlier statement that Cuomo should resign if the investigation into his alleged sexual misconduct found his accusers credible.
“I agree with that statement,” Biden said. When asked again if he believes Cuomo should resign, he replied simply, “Yes.”
As to whether the state Legislature should impeach Cuomo and remove him from office if he refuses to leave, Biden said, “Let’s take one thing at a time.
I think he should resign. I understand the state Legislature may decide to impeach. I don’t know for sure, I haven’t read all those facts.”
When pressed to respond to a photo Cuomo used in his self-defense that showed Biden hugging him, the president responded, “Listen, I’m not going to spin this.
I’m sure there were some hugs that were totally innocent, but apparently the attorney general decided there were things that were not.”

President Joe Biden called on New York’s Democratic governor, Andrew Cuomo, to resign Tuesday after New York’s attorney general dropped a report detailing allegations from 11 women about his inappropriate behavior.
Cuomo remained defiant and maintained his innocence despite the report released by New York Attorney General Leticia James, which he called biased in a statement Tuesday.
