Officers rushed to the house in Slate Drive at 1pm on Friday after receiving calls about concerns for her welfare. The body of “burgeoning” marketing executive Maddie, from Wimblington, Cambridgeshire, was found next to a dead man, who has not yet been identified.

Northamptonshire Police have confirmed that they are treating Maddie’s death as a murder and added that there was no history of domestic abuse.

Writing on Facebook, Maddie’s heartbroken mother Rachel said: “Our beautiful, beautiful Maddie is gone. She has grown her own pair of wings and gone to fly with the angels. Twenty-two years loving this amazing girl will never be enough, we thought we had a lifetime ahead of us.

In a family statement issued by police on behalf of Maddie’s family, they said, “We are absolutely devastated by the loss of Maddie, our beautiful daughter, sister, granddaughter and niece.”

“Our hearts are broken and we cannot begin to imagine life without her. The shock and grief we feel is indescribable”.

“Maddie was a kind, caring and thoughtful young woman who touched the lives of everyone she met”.

Detective Inspector Nicole Main, senior investigating officer, said: “Maddie Durdant-Hollamby was a young woman with a bright future ahead of her, and we are ensuring her family are fully supported as we work to answer their questions about how she came to lose her life.

“Our investigation has found no known history of domestic abuse in this case so far, but we continue to appeal to anyone with any information they feel is relevant to our inquiries to contact us as soon as possible.
