An Italian woman received six doses of Pfizer’s vaccine by mistake
According to experts, the experimentation was limited to the effects of a possible overdose of Pfizer’s BionTech vaccine to four doses, so this case of six doses in the medical literature is unknown.
On Sunday, a young Italian woman mistakenly received six doses of Pfizer-Biontech’s Covid-19 vaccine and, although she is in good health, remained in a hospital in Tuscany (Center).
The error occurred when a nurse, instead of injecting one dose of the vaccine into the 23-year-old medical student, administered the entire vial, which corresponds to six doses.
According to experts, experimentation with the effects of a possible overdose of Pfizer’s BionTech vaccine was limited to four doses, so this case of six doses is unknown in the medical literature.
It should be noted that this is not the first coronavirus vaccination error worldwide to be made by healthcare personnel.
In Germany, for example, a nurse admitted to vaccinating several people against coronavirus, but with a saline solution.
This is because, by mistake, the health worker dropped a vial with the biological and to try to “fix” it, her idea was to refill the vaccines with this component.
The woman, according to local media and the authorities themselves, filled six syringes with saline solution instead of the Pfizer / Biontech coronavirus vaccine.
The police in this region of Germany assured that “the woman said that the reason for her action was to avoid having to inform someone about the dropped vial”.
