An 11-year-old girl was raped by her 14-year-old brother. The family, who lived in the town of Carmarthenshire, Wales, United Kingdom, and the authorities noticed the incident when the girl was taken to the hospital with stomach pains.

Georgina Buckley, the prosecutor in the case, said the girl arrived at a hospital in Carmarthenshire with severe stomach pains.
One of her carers asked her if she had had sex or was pregnant.
Her answer was negative.
However, according to the prosecutor and the hearings reported by the local media Wales Online, the minor had mentioned to other patients that she did know about her pregnancy.
To the surprise of the doctors, the police interviewed her and her brother until they revealed the fact.
“Blurred sexual boundaries”
Dean Pulling, attorney for the juvenile, based the defense on the fact that the minors had grown up in a family environment with “difficult and dysfunctional circumstances, dysfunctional, neglectful and potentially abusive parenting,” according to reviews by Wales Online.
It also noted that the defendant had been exposed from the age of 10 to child pornography and, without parental guidance, had “blurred sexual boundaries.”
“Children are the product of their upbringing and the environment they are exposed to,” Pulling emphasized to the court.
Finally, the attorney invited the judicial body not to sentence the young man to jail, because, according to him, “the penalty would achieve little, but would cost a lot”.
Now 16 years old, the brother pleaded guilty to charges of statutory rape, i.e.
offenses for having sexual relations with a minor.
Judge Christopher Vosper sentenced the man to two years in a juvenile detention center, where he will be supervised and must perform some activity, either work or study.
In addition, he was registered as a sex offender for the next 30 months.
