Alleged father of decuples says he doesn’t believe they exist
Gosiede Thamara Sithole, 37, claimed to have given birth to decuplets at a private hospital in Pretoria, South Africa, last Monday, June 7.
The apparent birth is believed to have broken the records of Mali’s Halima–Geisse, who had nine babies at a hospital in Morocco in May.
Although, Tebogo Tsotetsi, the alleged father of the 10 babies in Gosiesie, has not been able to confirm their existence. Tebogo confirmed that he has not seen the babies and that he relied on his girlfriend, who called him to inform him of their birth.
He made several attempts to visit his girlfriend and the babies, but did not know their whereabouts or the status of his babies.
“The current uncertainties and public discourse about decuplets is of great concern to the family, especially in the absence of any evidence of the existence of decuplets other than the mother’s phone and WhatsApp messages.”
“The family has resolved and concluded that there are no decuplets born between Tebogo Tsotetsi and Gosiame Sithole”.
Pretoria’s Mediclinic Medforum hospital, where Gosiame told Tebogo she gave birth, has since confirmed that it did not treat her.
Tertia Kruger, a spokesperson for the Mediclinic hospital group, told TimesLIVE : “We can confirm that none of our agencies were involved in the obstetric care of this patient or her delivery.”
Tebogo’s statement said, “We appeal to members of the public to stop donating money into any bank account for decuplets.
We appreciate the public interest and support for decuplets, and without proof of their existence we strongly believe it is in everyone’s interest to conclude that they do not exist, until proven otherwise.”
